At Portland Coffee Box, we ship specialty coffee from 30+ Portland roasters to doorsteps across the country. Every box carries small-batch, whole-bean coffee from names like Puff Coffee, Guilder, Heart, Thornton, Extracto, and Elevator Coffee. Now with more than 30 partners across the metro, each chosen for flavor, ethics, and story.

Portland has more world-class coffee than most people will ever hear about. We built our coffee subscription to do the hunting: beans roasted days before they ship, tasting notes and brewing tips in every box, and free shipping nationwide, from one bag bi-weekly to four a month.

How It Works

You Choose: Pick one bag, two bag, three bag, or four bags delivered bi-weekly, or monthly. Free shipping to all 50 states.

We Curate: Each box features a rotating lineup of Portland’s roasters. Some names you’ll recognize. Others will be your new favorites.

You Brew: Whole beans arrive fresh, along with tasting notes, brewing tips, and stories from the roasters themselves.

Our Story

We're Cody and Callie, and we pack every box ourselves.

In November 2024, Cody woke up having spent the whole night dreaming about building a Portland coffee subscription from scratch: the roasters, the boxes going out across the country, the entire operation, in detail. It was vivid enough that he started researching it that same morning, fully expecting to find someone already doing it, but nobody was.

There were coffee subscriptions. There were Portland roasters. There was nothing that put the whole city in one box.

Cody has a new business idea roughly once a week, so step one was telling the two people he trusts most with them: Callie, and longtime friend Tim. Instead of talking him out of it, all three of us went down the rabbit hole.

What we found: an extraordinary number of great roasters in Portland, almost none of them getting national attention. And when we signed up for the big subscription services to see how it was done, one arrived as a bare bag of coffee. No roaster named, no origin story, no tasting notes, just a bag of coffee.

At Portland Coffee Box, the story is the point: the roasters, the artwork, the community, the dreams behind every bag. If we could put all of that in the box, we'd have something worth sharing.

Eleven months later, in October 2025, Portland Coffee Box launched. Today we work with more than 30 roaster partners, purchased more than 260 different types of coffee, and have shipped coffee to all 50 states. Still the two of us, packing every order by hand.
